TENNESSEE STATE CAPITOL

Mechanical & Electrical Upgrades

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
Hardaway Construction served as Construction Manager for the mechanical and electrical renovation of the historic Tennessee State Capitol, which was built in the mid-1850s and continues to house the executive and legislative functions essential to the operation of state government. The HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, and fire alarm systems required replacement or extensive upgrades in order to bring the building to modern standards of operation and safety. Hardaway managed the varied and serious challenges related to this type of work: removing ceilings and interior (historical) finishes, mitigating structural integrity concerns, reducing the effects of selective demolition, and installing new utilities throughout a building not originally designed to receive them. All work was accomplished according to an aggressive construction schedule during the six-month legislative session break.
