A meticulous renovation of 71,539 SF of the Davis Science Building at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Work consisted of demolition of ceiling tile, with some containing asbestos; complete replacement of the HVAC system with VAV reheat system within the existing ductwork; renovation of the electrical system; installation of new sprinkler system, fire alarm system and water piping system; and, new suspended ceilings throughout the classrooms and laboratory areas.
All of this work was successfully accomplished while highly sensitive experiments remained ongoing. Electrical power and temporary HVAC was provided in spaces where required for lab equipment and personnel. This required being extra careful not to damage equipment or disturb experiments in these areas.
