HARDAWAY Construction was awarded the new Gardner Hills Elementary School through the Best Value Procurement method which evaluates Prime Contractor Experience, Past Performance, and Management along with Price and Pro Forma information.
The new school is a pre-kindergarten through 5th grade elementary school located on the Tennessee side of the Ft. Campbell Army base. This 88,500 SF educational facility for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers accommodates a student population of 600, and includes general purpose classrooms, art and music classrooms, computer labs, a gymnasium and multipurpose room with stage and kitchen, a specialist's room, information center, administrative offices, teacher work rooms, and supply / storage rooms.
The school incorporated advanced communications systems to support technology program requirements, as well as general communications. Construction also provided the necessary utility connections, spaces for parking, bus loading / unloading area, playground, sports facilities, signage, fencing, landscaping, and security, and achieved SPiRiT Level Silver Military Green Building Certification.
