Builders
As
a young man, the late L.H. Hardaway, Sr. worked with his father
to learn the skills and craftmanship of fine home building.
Following
in family tradition, which now spans over three quarters of
a century, L.H. Hardaway, Sr. founded HARDAWAY Construction
Company. During his first nineteen years in business, Mr.
Hardaway built hundreds of homes throughout Davidson County.
In
1957, Mr. Hardaway's son, L.H. Hardaway, Jr., joined the company
focusing his attention on the commercial side of the business.
Fueled by tremendous growth and marketing opportunities, the
commercial and residential construction sectors were split
into HARDAWAY Construction Company and Cumberland Builders,
Inc., respectively. By 1959, Cumberland Builders developed
many residential subdivisions and also built Nashville's first
condominiums.
Today,
Cumberland Builders continues to build top quality homes in
several of Nashville's submarkets as well as building relationships
with its clients that last a lifetime.
